We have three runners today. REPLENISH at Lingfield and KING OF NAPLES & LORD GEORGE at Kempton this evening. We are pleased with the condition of the horses at this stage but normally it takes a few weeks before get into our stride. Hopefully they will all run well.

We were disappointed that ZEST failed to settle early on her race at Kempton on Saturday. Even so she would not have won as the winner won nicely but she may have finished a bit closer. Whatever, once we get her to settle better she will be a nice filly for the future and will give Elite members a lot of fun times.

LANDWADE LAD was given a lovely ride by Sheikh Fahad Al Thani in the charity race at Ascot on Sunday. He had a lovely position throughout the race sitting third but unfortunately the two horses in front of him who we had hoped would give him a lead into the final furlong fell in a heap and he was left in front earlier than we had hoped. Having gone well clear LANDWADE LAD thought he had doen enough and lazed in front and was caught a couple of strides from the line. They both enjoyed themselves and LANDWADE LAD has come out of the race in excellent form.

Catherine Wills came for dinner on Monday evening and looked at ther two horses here, ALWAYS SUMMER & ISSUE. They are bpth still looking quite wintery and will appreciate some sun. Last night James's parents, Brian & Libby Fanshawe came to stay and were out first thing to watch work. They have a share in THE TIN MAN and PTARMGAN RIDGE.

Work this morning was on the Al Bahathri. It was too cold to go up Waterhall and everyone will have gone over to the Racecourse. We had some nice pieces of work. We are looking forward to running MAZZINI in the near future. THE TIN MAN who had been loose the day before had a fairly easy piece of work with Tom Queally up. NOBLE STAR is an unraced three-year-old by Acclamation who is catching the eye. SPEEDY BOARDING is coming along well. TEGARA can hopefully improve on her third in a Newmarket Maiden last year. SILCA WINGS has not done a lot on the racecourse so far but she is strengthening up all the time and is working nicely.
