THE TIN MAN runs in The Hackwood Stakes today.

The yard is looking forward to running THE TIN MAN at Newbury this afternoon. He took a long time to come to himself this year which was the reason he did not run until the end of May when he won the Listed Leisure Stakes at Windsor. He has had the clearest run we have had all year with him and the only slight worry is that the ground could be a bit softer for him. HORS DE COMBAT is running in the Nexus Infrastructure Handicap at Newmarket twenty minutes before THE TIN MAN. Two years ago he was running very good races in Group Races but nothing seems to go right for him these days. He looks great and seems in excellent form and we would love to see him get his head in front again. He had a terrible run at Royal Ascot and would have hated the ground. He will love the ground today.
We sold two horses at the July Sales last week which is always sad. SILCA WINGS has gone to Ireland and I am not sure where ALZEBARH is heading but she ran a good race to finish second a couple of days before her sale. SLEEPLESSINSEATTLE was retained by her owner and we will continue to see if we can get her a win.
We have had a few horses that have finished second and third in the last ten days but sadly no winner. PRINCESSE EVA is doing everything the right way round now and ran a good race to finish third at Yarmouth. She should go on improving and we are hopeful we can get her to win. She was too keen early in her races and not getting home but she is learning to do it the other way round now. MAGICAL DREAMER did well to finish fourth in her maiden during The July Festival at Newmarket. she didnt behave herself in the stalls and was very slow away but she has been in the stalls a lot since and hasn't put a foot wrong. LORD GEORGE ran okay at Newmarket but has since been gelded and we are looking forward to a good backend with him. PERMISSION ran well and just missed out for fourth in a 7f Handicap at Newmarket. It was only her second race and she was racing against much more experienced horses on ground which would have been too fast for her. BELLEVARDE had to settle for second place in a 6f maiden at Nottingham beaten half a length.
Hayley Turner has taken her licence out in order to ride in The Shergar Cup Races in August. Last night at Newmarket she had three rides her first for about nine months. The closest she got to a winner was a third on HE'S MY BOY for the yard. For a few seconds it looked as if she might have a winner but it was not to be.
