Stable Update

Posted on: 21st Jul 2016

Pegasus Stables have had a very quiet time this week. Our only runner for the week is PECKING ORDER at Newcastle tomorrow. She was rather disappointing in her first and only run of the season at Kempton. She was very consistent last year always in the first three but she was given a high handicap mark which hasn't helped her. She looks well and has been going nicely enough at home. This is the first time Conor Beasley has ridden for the yard.

THE TIN MAN, our last winner and runner, seems to have come out of The Hackwood Stakes in good form. He may run at either The Curragh in the Phoenix Stakes or Deauville in The Prix Maurice de Gheest. The likelihood is that he will not be running in The Nunthorpe at York. James entered him in a couple of five furlong races as he pulled quite hard at Royal Ascot but was well settled at Newbury last weekend so is likely to be kept to six furlong races for the time being.

LORD GEORGE was gelded last week. He is a lovely big horse who should have a good career ahead of him. He is not going to be a stallion so we felt it was time to take the decision to castrate him. He has taken it so well and is already back doing two canters a day.
