READY STEADY GO from News of the James Fanshawe: Racehorse Trainer website.

The horses seem to be a couple of weeks more forward this year. All the older horses are doing faster work and look very well on it. James has kept the work on Bury Side either on Waterhall or the Al Bahathri. Waterhall is a long trek for us but it is a great gallop.

Elite Racing have a lovely team of horses here. It is spearheaded by the older filly ZEST . ZEST has been frustrating as she has won two races but she has also run some shockers. We know she has loads of ability and hope that this year she will prove she has been worth keeping in training. She has done some faster work and looks in good form. TRIBUTE ACT is a gorgeous filly who ran once and won. She is a big filly with loads of scope and is very easy at home although can get fresh and show her wellbeing. She has done some faster work she always does exactly that is asked of her and always does it well. Her mother SISTER ACT died having her which was a huge loss as she is also the dam of RIBBONS. ROUBLES has grown a weeny bit and has done well over the winter. She is obviously not going to be as good as her mother, SOVIET SONG, but she will be very tough. George Wood has been riding her out recently and they get on well together. The two year old is a lovely colt called MAGISTRATE. It is a great name so we hope he will be good. He is by Cape Cross and a half brother to Gp1 winner Marsha. The Racing Club should have a lot of fun with this lot this year.

GOTHIC EMPIRE is going nicely and should do well for his Hong Kong owners. He looks to have settled down from last year and is enjoying life so much more. Dan Muscutt has ridden him out a lot and is very positive about him. Tom Queally rode MAGICAL DREAMER on Saturday and gave us some positive vibes. She might have run at Kempton this coming Friday but we have decided to wait for a race on the turf. ARTHENUS looks as well as I can remember and very happy in himself. He might be a bit rounder this year but he looks good for it. He is a very good looking horse and if everything goes right for him could have another good year.

THE TIN MAN had a swinging canter up the Al Bahathri just so that he can have a change from Warren Hill. He loves coming up The Alba. There is no rush with him at the moment. REPLENISH is in terrific form, looks great and enjoying his work.

We had our monthly Fred Archer Racing morning on Friday. Everyone gets on so well and we have a lot of fun. We had twenty for breakfast in our kitchen which was quite a squeeze. Tom Queally and Dan Muscutt who have both ridden most of the FAR horses recently were able to fill everyone in on how they were going. Isidore Carivalis and Sarah & Mike King were the only partners out first lot to see their horse THE TIN MAN do two canters. We had six horses out second lot, LORD GEORGE, MASTER ARCHER, MAGICAL DREAMER, PTARMIGAN RIDGE, THE PINTO KID and the ex Parcelle Perdu. All behaved very well and we had no loose ones!! EXCELLERATION and SOCIETY PRINCE are both on the easy list for different reasons and they only trotted on our ring. They both look very well and the little hiccups wont do either of them any harm and they will catch up in no time.

KING OF NAPLES ran okay at Doncaster on Sunday. he finished in mid div. He settled well but has an unfortunate high head carriage which makes him look as if he isn't trying but he is so honest and tries his heart out. He will be seen at his best on VERY soft ground. He has been penalised very harshly for winning in the past, he is a small horse who is not up to carrying a lot of weight.
