No Road to Deauville for THE TIN MAN

Posted on: 31st Jul 2016

Looking fantastic and working well yesterday (Saturday) it is very disappointing for all the partners and everyone at Pegasus that THE TIN MAN had a dirty scope afterwards. After getting the results this morning it showed that a significant amount of bacteria grew. This is a blow as we had thought that he was spot on for Deauville next Sunday. Tom Queally had been pleased with his piece of work yesterday and as things were going so well it had been discussed that we might not scope him. As there is something going around James thought it prudent to do it anyway.

We will now aim him for The Haydock Sprint on September 3rd and hope we do not have any other mishaps on the way.

We have had a frustrating few days. We had six runners on Friday and felt that several of them had chances of winning and came away empty handed by the end of the day. HORS DE COMBAT is proving very frustrating but did have a terrible draw and perhaps does not enjoy such a big field, INDULGED ran well and is an improving filly but at one point looked as if she was going to win and then seemed to wander about a bit. MAZZINI cam across one too good for him but we were very happy with the way he behaved and took the race, his family usually improve with age. Unfortunately there was no pace in ALWAYS SUMMERS'S race and she did not have the turn of foot when they quickened, HE'S MY BOY was running in a better class race and ran his normal race. We were so disappointed with ENMESHING as we like him a lot and hope that it was just the ground that was too fast for him.
