Gale Force storms in at Kempton.

Posted on: 15th Jul 2015

It was her first race over two miles, having previously run mainly over a mile and a half, and looked as if she relished the extra half mile. On a couple of occasions previously she had looked a little unlucky but this was only her sixth race and we hope that she will make into a nice staying filly for the future.

Hopefully the Racing UK so called expert who questioned her owners sense for keeping her in training as a four year old will regret his remarks. He claimed that she was small, limited and hadn't done enough as a three year old to credit keeping her in training. She is actually a big filly well over sixteen hands high who is getting stronger all the time. She is from a family who improves with age, her half sister being SEAL OF APPROVAL who won the Group One Champion Fillies & Mares race on Champions Day, and she was also unlucky not to have won as a three year old and a little unlucky not to have won the race at Goodwood where he made the remarks as she came from way off the pace to finish second. Whatever she does now the decision to keep her in training was the correct one by Tim Vestey as she now has a one by her name when it comes to breeding. When we need more people and specially owner breeders to come into racehorse ownership for the presenters to be questioning their sense in keeping horses in training is irresponsible and actually makes the presenter look extremely inadequate when they get all the facts totally wrong. As he questioned Tim Vesteys sense in keeping her in training you would have to question his sanity for the sweeping remarks he made not only about GALE FORCE but other peoples horse,s I suspect, he knew just as little about that evening.

On Friday SPEEDY BOARDING is heading off to The Curragh for The Irish Oaks the next day. She is in excellent form at home and we hope that she does herself justice. She is a big filly with a long stride which she will be able to use on Saturday. This morning she just stretched her legs on The Limekilns which were riding superbly, she looked to be loving it. Everything crossed for a big run.

Several more of the colts were gelded last week. ARTHENUS who has been a little disappoininting in his last two runs due to the fact he did not travel throughout his races as he has looked a nice progressive horse at home. HIGHER POWER another very nice horse who James felt would be better as a gelding. MIRO is the third who also has shown he has a fair amount of ability at home but still a little on the weak side.

July Week is always a busy week with lots of visitors coming to see their horses and on top of that the Sales. We sold five horses last week. SHINING GLITTER was our best seller for 37,000gns but she won twice and is by Shamardal. The BBA (Ire) bought her but we are not sure where she is heading but hopefully someone has bought her to breed from. CELESTIAL FIRE has been bought by a breeder but am not sure if he is going to put her back into training, PRESTO BOY was bought for Richard Hughes so he will perhaps be one of his first runners, ALWAREED has been bought to go and jumping and will start off in a bumper and ANGEL DELIGHT was bought by an Arab.
