Arthenus heads to Deauville

Posted on: 13th Aug 2016

THE PRIX GONTAUT-BIRON HONG KONG JOCKEY CLUB (Group 3) (4yo+) (Turf) (4yo+) is the race ARTHENUS is to run in on Monday. He has not exactly set the world on fire yet this year but at home he shows us that he is a nice horse. The hope is that a small field will be to his liking and will encourage him to show us the ability he has so far kept hidden so far this season.

We have had a rather quiet time due to the fact that we have had some coughing in the yard which has been very frustrating. We do have STONEY BROKE running in the 2.20 at Ripon THE BRITISH STALLION STUDS EBF FILLIES´ HANDICAP. It will only be her second race and her first this season. She has a good attitude and has been going well enough that we hope she runs a very nice race. MISSED CALL is another lovely filly who always does her best. Last year she finished second in The Cumberland Lodge and won a Shergar Cup race with Emma Jane Wilson from America riding as well as a Listed Race at Kempton. On her day she is pretty useful.

Next week we look forward to seeing ENTITLING back in the yard. He ran two races for us in 2014 when he finished fifth and then won at Kempton before he left for Hong Kong. Unfortunately things did not go according to plan and he has been disappointing. We are lucky that his owner Ben Wong has decided to give him another go back in the UK.
