Where's Luke?

Posted on: 5th Sep 2016

Luke Harvey left Lambourn early to come and interview Hayley Turner riding out this morning. He just had time to have a quick cup of coffee before we were off for second lot. Having asked for instructions to get to Warren Hill we said we would meet him there. Twenty minutes later we arrive and no sign of Luke. I am thinking he really is very scatty and where on earth could he have gone to. We are walking home and still no sign of him until we get back to the yard. Then we learn its all Hayleys fault as she picked up his car keys up after breakfast and put them in her pocket. She must be getting excited at the prospect of getting her driving licence back next week. Poor Luke didnt get his interview with Hayley riding out.

Having been flat out for several days it was good to have everybody, except for Helen who was in France with Arthenus, in the yard today. It was back to normal today.

We thought ARTHENUS might have trouble getting back today because of the lorry drivers blockade in Calais but he arrived back at lunchtime in good form. He enjoys his trips to France and picking up the lingo from Pierre-Charles Boudot.

All the horses who raced over the weekend seemed well today. LORD GEORGE was full of himself and bucking all the way up the town canter. REPLENISH & THE TIN MAN went together and both looked great. KING OF NAPLES seems fine as does ZEST who may hve found the ground too soft at Haydock.

PRINCESSE EVA is going home to stud tomorrow. We are very sad that we were unable to win with her but hopefully she will breed plenty of winners instead.
