THE TIN MAN WINS GOLD TODAY from News of the James Fanshawe: Racehorse Trainer website.

we were all rather depressed to see so much rain on Haydock Racecourse over the past 24 hours. we thought it would not to be to THE TIN MAN'S liking but he seemed to plough through it to win The 32Red Sprint Cup at the third time of asking. He has always shown a really good turn of foot on good to firm ground but today he showed he also had a turn of foot on heavy. The family have all liked soft ground but we always felt with his electric turn of foot he wouldnt but he proved us wrong today.

We hadnt asked Oisin Murphy to come and sit on him at home as we felt he might be disappointed as he looks like a selling plater at home. There is not a horse that looks slower in the string than him as he is so laid back and lazy and we didn't want Oisin going to the races with this memory of him.

He looked fantastic in the paddock and as always so laid back. He loves a big occassion and laps it up rather than getting over excited. He looks at everything around him and takes it all in. He looked great going down and even better coming back. Just when you are thinking he is going nowhere and cant win this is when he actually get s going and surprises you. Adam Kirby set a fast pace which suited us well as THE TIN MAN loves to be off the bridle early and and to come with a late flourish. His owners were just so over the moon and I dont think we have shouted as much or as loud before.

It was a race we wanted to win badly as he ahd been second and third before and wanted to get that elusive one in the race. incidentally his little three year old sister won last at Kempton last night and looks prety useful.

We bought a lead horse for him at the July Sales called ENVISAGING and he has been a huge asset. he also raced today and ran a tremendous race but he was drawn twelve of twelve at Kempton and when he was coming with a veyr good looking run he hit a wall of horses and in the end didnt beat many but he will do well for us also. he is owned by the same syndicate as THE TIN MAN which is the Ormonde. He can only run when he is needed as THE TIN MANS mated.
