THE TIN MAN to be supplemented for The Qipco Champion Sprint

Posted on: 12th Oct 2015

Having said after his facile victory at Ascot ten days ago that THE TIN MAN would be put away until next year we have done a U turn and this morning supplementing him for next Saturdays sprint. He has come out of his last race in excellent form so it was decided, with his partners, that we would take the plunge to re enter him.

It is a race his half brother DEACON BLUES won four years ago as a four year old. THE TIN MAN is only three and is much less experienced but we think has an enormous amount of ability. It may come a year too early but if he had been right at York and won we would have gone straight to the race next Saturday.

There is great excitement not only among the partners of Fred Archer Racing - Ormonde Partnership but the whole of the Fanshawe household. James trains him, Tom rides him out everyday and I manage him. I feel a very tense week ahead of us!

Not only do we have THE TIN MAN running but possibly GALE FORCE, although the ground may be a bit too fast for her in which case she will go for The Prix Royal Oak, RIBBONS in The Champion, SPEEDY BOARDING in The Fillies and Mares and possibly KNIGHT OWL in The Balmoral Handicap if he gets in. All of them are in very good form. There may be horses that are better than them but they will give their very best.

Today we have THAI NOON who is out of a lovely filly James trained for Craig Bennett called Alsace Lorraine. It has taken a long time to get her on a racecourse because of one or two issues but she has changed inside out recently. Today may not be her day but she will be a nice filly as a four year old.

Tomorrow ZOFFANY'S WAY runs at Wolverhampton. His first race was a little disappointing but he has come on a lot and he now has the experience of a race as well as going two and a half furlongs further. He should run much better and he is in good form.
