THE TIN MAN On Track For Haydock

Posted on: 2nd Sep 2017

THE TIN MAN is on course for another tilt at The Gp1 Haydock Sprint next Saturday. He worked nicely under Tom Queally this morning on The Trial Ground on The Limekilns. He is never going to leave a race at home on the gallops but he quickened nicely past his lead horse.

We have had a slow start with our 2yos this year but hopefully we will be able to put that behind us soon. We had two SOCIETY ROCK'S working on the short gallop this morning that both went nicely. SOCIETY PRINCE looks very much like his dad and should be on the racecourse in about two weeks time. He worked with the more experienced EXPELLED and would have learnt plenty this morning. He is likely to do one more piece and then run the week after next with a bit of luck. NOBLE STAR who is coming back after a break led SPORTING BILL the other SOCIETY ROCK and Marsha's half brother MAGISTRATE. They are quietly coming along. All the horses worked well on The Limekilns this morning. Both litttle NATHALIE and the much bigger COLONIAL CLASSIC went well, as did GREAT WHITE SHARK and MASTER ARCHER. REGICIDE & REPLENISH have both had breaks and looked to be enjoying themselves as did CAPE TO CUBA and SYMBOL. LORD GEORGE looked in great form with SAM MISSILE so all in all it was a good mornings work.

It was quite misty first thing but perfectly possible to see everything but by second lot the fog had come down and you could hardly see a thing on Warren Hill and then an hour later it was the most beautiful morning. it is very weird weather at the moment.

Mike & Michelle Morriss were keen and out to see THE TIN MAN, who they have a share in, work at 6am followed by REPLENISH. Second lot they saw their two year old, they share with Jan & Peter Hopper, MERCHANT OF VENICE on Warren Hill. This evening they will be at Chelmsford to see MAZZINI take part in the feature race the Betfred Chelmsford City Cup Handicap (Class 2) (3yo+ 0-105). it will be the first time that he has run over 7f.

We could have a very busy time with runners next week especially at the end of the week. On Friday we could have runners at Ascot, Haydock, Kempton and Saint Cloud. Interesting times head.
