THE TIN MAN faces Eleven on Saturday

Posted on: 6th Sep 2018

THE TIN MAN will face eleven opponents on Saturday which is one more than last year and two less than the year before. We are looking forward to running him as he seems in excellent form at home and looks fantastic. He is drawn 5 which is two away from Harry's Angel in 3 which is similar to last year. In an ideal world we would prefer not to have any more rain but having said that he still finished second and third on soft and heavy ground in his previous runs in the race. He is the only horse that is running in the race for the third time.

Also running on Saturday are PTARMIGAN RIDGE and ENVISAGING, who is THE TIN MAN'S mate everyday. All three runners from the yard on Saturday are owned by FRED ARCHER RACING. This will be the first time we have had three runners on the same day.

At Haydock this afternoon we have just had LILYPAD run a good second race of her career to finish third and seems to be improving. She is a beautifully bred filly being out of Lingfield Oaks Trial winner Vow. At 3.40pm FONDEST is running and should like the good to soft and has shown she enjoys the course when winning first time out this year with George Wood on her that day who is on her again today. VISOR is a big price at Chelmsford this evening. I think he should run okay. He only had one race last year but has had a long time off and should obviously improve for this run.

Tomorrow MAINSAIL ATLANTIC is running at Newcastle. He is a lovely horse who has been very consistent but has not yet won. Ben Curtis is riding him tomorrow. MOD runs at Haydock and she has also been very consistent. She will like any juice that is in the ground. Running tomorrow night at Kempton is THE TIN MAN'S little half sister INDIAN TYGRESS. She won first time out on very soft ground and has been second twice since. Another win for her would come at a very good time. She is still owned by her breeder Elizabeth Grundy and also Rosie Manning.

A busy couple of days ahead.
