Horses Running Well

PECKING ORDER was the icing on the cake after a pretty good afternoon when she scooted up at Ripon this afternoon. She previously had been third and second twice so to get that win was superb as she really deserved it. Last year she was small and scrawny and we didnt hold out much hope for her but she has improved and improved. She will now have a holiday and come back bigger and stonger again next year.

We then had three seconds with the two year olds. The two unraced fillies ran excellent races. ZEST just didnt quite get there and got beaten a nose but she is going to be lots of fun for The Elite Racing Club. She is a cousin of RIBBONS and a niece of SOVIET SONG and lovely filly to have in the yard. TEGARA who is a bit red headish did everything right bar be a little bit tricky about going into the stalls. She jumped well and held a good position throughout and ran on to take third, a really pleasing run.

REPLENSIH found one much too good for him and he finished second beaten quite a long way. The likelihood is that he will come back to seven furlongs. he has now been second twice. LANDWADE LAD had a horrible race. Something happened to the horse in front of him and he had to take a pull so his race was over although he did run on in the end.

Good to see them go to the race and run well.

On Thursday we went down to Kirtlington Stud and saw RIBBONS half sister by Exceed & Excel who is a big filly and SOVIET SONGS filly by Speightstown who is pretty small but is up behind so should grow some more. They are both destined to come to Pegasus which is very exciting. We just love all the family.

We have had to have another set of FRED ARCHER RACING colours made as it looks as if we may have both our horses running on Friday. THE TIN MAN all being well will go to Ascot after a bit of a disappointing run at York a few weeks ago. LORD GEORGE may head to Wolverhampton after a good third at Salisbury. We have just bought a yearling by Kyllachy and a half brother to FLORISS and DONT STARE for 2016. All the shares in him have been sold but we are going to the sales and will be looking for a couple more.

FLY was very green in her first race which she won at Lingfield three weeks ago. When she ran at Kempton earlier this week she was racing against more experienced horses but still battled to win. She has a wonderful gutsy attitude and really wants to win even though she has not got full vision in one of eyes. We hope she can go on again. She is also from a wonderful family, SEAL OF APPROVAL, GALE FORCE and now FLY are out of Hannda. All by very different stallions Authorized, Scirocco and Pastoral Pursuits it doesn't seem to matter to the mare they all seem to win.

We have been very stretched today as we had five runners at four different meetings. Seven of them were away overnight. We had a fairly big work morning over on racecourse side this morning. The horses looked very well. ARTHENUS & THE TIN MAN worked well together, MR PICKWICK is improving all the time. He is a very big horse but is getting his strength and went nicely with STAR STORM who is looking a lovely horse. CELESTIAL KNIGHT, LORD GEORGE & COLUMN finished in a nice group, DUKE OF NORTH went well with ZOFFANY'S WAY & ENREACHING, MIRO & STONEY BROKE went together. The ground was superb and the horses loved it.
