Horses for Courses

So many things went wrong for THE TIN MAN in The July Cup starting with a bad draw which meant we were way out in no mans land with none of the more fancied runners around us. We needed to get a lead and got one from one of the bigger priced horses but we were taken back too far. Tom Queally then had to ask THE TIN MAN to quicken up going downhill which he did not enjoy and basically he did not enjoy the track and the ground was very loose.

He looks to have come out of the race in cracking form but he is unlikely to run before The Haydock Sprint at the beginning of September. We will freshen him up and have him spot on for the day. He ran very gamely in the race last year when he was virtually tailed off in bottomless ground and he came with an amazing run to finish second. This was at a meeting when very few horses came from behind to win races. His partners are excited to be going back there because we know he enjoys it. His other aim for the year is The Qipco Champion Sprint in October.
