George's Shining Knight

Posted on: 1st May 2016

KNIGHT OWL is one of Pegasus's great characters and everyone, possibly not ARTHENUS'S connections, was delighted to see him win the championsofracing.co.uk Suffolk Stakes. Craig Bennett his owner has always had great faith in him. At the end of each season when we think he is going to say perhaps he should go to the sales he always says "I am going to keep KNIGHT OWL another year he is going to win us a nice race one day". ARTHENUS who we think a lot of did not enjoy his race and did not have such a clear run as KNIGHT OWL he was also carrying nineteen pounds more.

STAR STORM ran well enough in The Jockey Club Stakes and will come on a ton for the race. He is a very handsome horse and will go on improving all season. MODERAH like a lot of fillies will appreciate some sun on her back and also will improve for the run in the Listed Daisy Warwick Stakes at Goodwood. MAZZINI is out of FIRENZE who was a Listed winner herself but a sister to July Cup winner FRIZZANTE. Conditions were awful at Doncaster and he struggled in the ground. He is a very nice for the future.

MISSILE SAM is still very much a baby and found the course at Newmarket very different to Kempton. He will have learnt a lot and is a very nice horse for the future.

This week is quiet until Friday where we have three fillies entered in the mile and a quarter maiden Stakes at Nottingham. JUST FOR YOU is a filly owned by J P McManus who has had jumpers with us in the past but is now supporting us with this nicely bred filly by Fastnet Rock. INDULGED and SLEEPLESSINSEATTLE are the other two unraced fillies entered in the race. ZEST has an entry at Ascot in the mile handicap at the evening meeting at Ascot.
