Calm Before The Storm

Posted on: 17th Sep 2015

STAR STORM had a very nice confidence boost on Tuesday when winning at Yarmouth. The ground was deemed too fast for some trainers but Tom Quealley reported it perfect after the two of them won the third race. STAR STORM had been a little disappointing earlier in the season but we are beginning to see the nice horese we hoped we had. He is a gorgeous horse and he used to get a bit excitable but he is growing up all the time.

A day earlier FULL OF SPEED was yet again placed. He is a kind horse and such a good ride we would love to see him get his head in front. The opinion is that he doesn't quite get a mile and a half so he will probably go back to a mile and a quarter.

It would have been perfect if SPEEDY BOARDING had been able to win The Sir John Musker Listed Filles Stakes yesterday but it was not to be. She had had an easy time after the Irish Oaks and was on a comeback mission. James reported that the ground felt most odd and maybe she felt she couldn't stretch on it. She ran jolly well and it will put her right for the good races at the end of the season. As far as I know she will stay in training next year. She looked very well the day after her race.
