Arthenus Scores Again.

Posted on: 4th Sep 2015

Robert the Painter was well clear a furlong and a half out and ARTHENUS had to buckle down to beat him on the line. This was a very good performance from an improving horse who should be an even nicer horse next year. He appreciated the softer ground.

MR PICKWICK was a bit to keen early on in his race. He is a big horse and was very weak and it looked as if he needed at least a mile and a quarter. As he gets stronger it is looking as if he might come back in trip as his pedigree suggests. ZOFFANY'S WAY should come on for his race.

James and I unfortunately just missed SHE'S GORGEOUS' race. It was not her true running and we will wait to see how she is over the next few days.

LANDWADE LAD just failed by a nose to win the 32RED HANDICAP CLASS 3 (LONDON MIDDLE DISTANCE SERIES QUALIFIER). He had been put up ten pounds by the handicapper so he was running under a six pound penalty before that came into force. He is only a small horse but he tries so hard and you cant ask more than that. He wont run again for a few weeks.

HORS DE COMABT runs tomorrow at Haydock and looks great. The more the ground dries out the better for him. He has been taken out of a couple of races this year due to the soft ground. SPIRIT RAISER is looking in excellent form at home and has been working well. ELIZONA always looks like a very nice horse at home but hasn't reproduced that on the racecourse this year yet.

On Sunday at York we have ONE CHANCE who will love it if it is soft ground and THE TIN MAN who has won his last two races. They both seem well.
